From the Riverside apartments on Post Street: Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside is about 1 mile away, Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and Wolfson Children's about 1.7 miles, UF Health Jacksonville about 3.6 miles and Memorial Hospital about 6.5 miles. Mayo Clinic Florida is about 18.5 miles, on the east side. NAS Jacksonville is about 9 miles for military and civilian assignments on base.
What to look for in assignment housing
- A real kitchen so you can meal prep for long shifts. All three JaxStay homes have full kitchens.
- Quiet for day sleep after night shifts. The Riverside bedroom in the one bedroom apartment faces the garden; the Riverside building has quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM.
- Laundry. The Mandarin home has a washer and dryer; the Riverside apartments do not have laundry inside.
- Parking. Free street parking in Riverside; free covered parking at the Mandarin home.
- Fast Wi-Fi for charting, classes and calls home. Unit 3 has gigabit Wi-Fi.
- Pets. The Mandarin home is pet friendly for approved stays with a $125 pet fee per stay. The one bedroom Riverside apartment does not allow pets.
- A local host. JaxStay is locally owned and managed by Alina Penjiyeva with cleaning and maintenance support.
